Last weekend I had an early morning session with this wonderful family in the Eastman Community of Grantham, New Hampshire. I don’t usually do morning sessions but this time of year with the sun coming up later it makes it possible to start at a reasonable time. This session was near a lake and was covered with a beautiful morning fog which made for some soft but dramatic photos, a nice change from photographing in the evening light. Besides evening light it may be my new favorite conditions to shoot in. It was so nice venturing to a new area with leaves starting to change color as they are just starting to show their colors closer to home.

This little guy was the most chipper which makes me wish I could schedule sessions in the morning year round. He was excited and ready to run, play and use his stick to fish leaves out of the stream. At one point I asked him if he had pockets and I thought it was adorable that he found them but left one of his little fingers sticking out. And the hands on the face in the last image just kills me.
