Last year I photographed Shawn and Corey’s engagement session on Lake Sunapee which is the reason I was connected to Dale and Mike. Both couples summer in New Hampshire on Lake Sunapee with their parents and Dale and Mike knew it was where they wanted to plan their wedding settling on the historical beautiful grounds at The Fells. I was so happy the weather was cooperative since these two are DC residents and rescheduling would be tricky before their September wedding. With the help of Dale’s wedding planner, the amazing Kristen Burgess with By Emily B of whom I am so excited to finally get to work with suggested a few good spots to check out with the sun in the direction that I wanted. Originally we had a spot picked out but after looking at Google maps realized that if we have a sunny day, the sun direction would have been all wrong, something very important to create beautiful light-filled images. If there is anything you take away from this blog post beside looking at their gorgeous images, is to remember that while a location might look great for your first look, portraits or session, it really all depends on the quality of light because not all light is the same or in the most ideal direction. I’m so grateful that Dale and Mike trusted me on this one because we created the most gorgeous sun-drenched images because of it. Not to mention that they also followed my advice to just have fun and your images will look great! We had the best time trying to not let the mosquitoes eat us and I can’t wait for their day to arrive as I already know it’s going to be one heck of a fun-filled day!
