Typically I prefer to shoot in locations that I’ve at least had a chance to scout out and determine if it has good light, but for this session there wasn’t a lot of time to do that as we had a limited schedule when figuring out a date that worked for both of us. This girl really wanted to have her session at Feast and Field in Barnard, Vermont, a location known for mixing good local food, art and music in the field. It’s definitely a place to check out this summer if you haven’t already done so. I arrived a bit early to see if I could find a few spots that were away from the crowds and weren’t in the open sun. I was a bit nervous having a session at a location that I hadn’t scouted out, but it ended up being one of my favorite sessions as the light was so beautiful once I found an area to filter the sun a bit. And, this girl is a total natural in front of the camera. It was so much fun spending the evening with her and her family creating some beautiful portraits.
