Project Life 365 {Features}

This past week I crossed over the 100th day of Project Life 365!  Yay!  Yippee!  Heels clicking!  I am still so excited about this challenge 100 days later and never expected to have this much enthusiasm at this point.  I’m even thinking I could do it again next year but I don’t want to get ahead of myself here.

One reason for the continued enthusiasm is the Instagram community of Project Lifers.  They offer so much support and encouragement.  I love seeing how others have interpreted the prompts and the beauty that surrounds them.  I’ve also found a couple of other forums on Instagram that I’ve found to be just as supportive and I wanted to share some of the images that I’ve had featured over the past few weeks by these various forums.

For the daily prompt I approach it one of two ways.  I first try and connect it to our daily life somehow because at the end of the year I want to make a poster of all the square images and reflect back on what our year as a family was like.  But, sometimes I have a difficult time connecting our life to the prompt and when this happens I see it as an opportunity to push the photographer in me.  I try and incorporate the kids as much as I can by creating a scene that fits the prompt and they seem to be pretty eager to participate.  In fact, I get asked a LOT, “What’s your prompt today?”.  So, in the end, most of the images end up being about us anyway, whether staged to fit a prompt (we’re all having fun creating it) or whether it just happens to blend seamlessly with life at the moment.

I am so thankful that I took on this project as I have grown as a photographer in so many ways and am truly appreciative of the support.  Thank you Project Life 365!
