A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful high school senior from Hanover High School in Hanover, NH for her senior portraits.  She was so much fun to hang out with and get to know.  She has dabbled in photography herself throughout her high school career and it’s always fun to chat photography with someone you’re photographing.  It doesn’t get any better than that! I also loved that she incorporated in her guitar, another hobby she picked up in high school.

The other great thing about this session was that it reminded me how exciting this time is for high school seniors.  As a mom of a high school senior myself, I realized that I was caught up in all the “things” to do in preparing for that transition to college, and in some ways in denial that it was happening.  Spending a little time with this girl, getting to know her and hearing her hopes and dreams reminded me that it is such an exciting time for them.  It’s a time for them to pursue their dreams, discover things and live any life they want to live.  My time with her certainly enlightened me and made me appreciate this milestone in my own senior’s life a little more instead of letting the deadlines, applications, etc. overshadow this amazing milestone.  It’s such a wonderful time to celebrate and document, and I wish this girl the best of luck in her future endeavors wherever they take her, which I know will be far.
