Family Portraits | Woodstock, Vermont | Vermont Family Photographer

I’m happily writing this blog post next to a warm fire as the temperature outside is the coldest it’s been all winter.  It reminds me how cold it was during this session and while twenty something degrees may seem warm compared to the current temperatures outside, when you’re shooting a family session in those temperatures your clients have to be pretty resilient like this family and you’ve got to work quickly.   Documenting their time together outweighed anything the forecast could have thrown our way so we pressed on.  And, with a family of five girls I’m sure they’ve pressed on with many things in their lifetime as well as made many loving memories together.  Just in my short time with them I could see that they love to laugh and enjoy each other’s company so much.  We met at the Woodstock Inn to take some portraits in their garden and then walked over to the covered bridge in town to wrap up the session.  I hope they treasure these photos for many years to come just as they treasure each other.

Note: Cold weather sessions are great for families with older children or couples wanting engagement portraits but I wouldn’t recommend them for families with small children.
